Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux system administration, configuration management and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and maintain Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian preferred)
  • Manage system resources including CPU, memory and storage
  • Perform system upgrades, patching and security hardening
  • Implement and maintain high-availability configurations (clustering, failover)
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot complex system problems and provide timely resolutions
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Python, Perl) for system automation and administration tasks
  • Automate routine tasks using configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Implement and maintain security best practices including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access control lists (ACLs)
  • Respond to security incidents and perform necessary remediation actions
  • Manage and maintain virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, VirtualBox)
  • Work with networking teams to troubleshoot network connectivity issues
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth system operations

Requirements:

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience in Linux System Administration
  • Proficiency in Operating Systems and Unix
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar
  • Experience in cloud environments like AWS or Azure
