Merchant Acquiring Risk Specialist

The role of Merchant Acquiring Risk Specialist is a critical one, requiring an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with merchant acquiring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Review: Conduct thorough reviews of transactions being processed at acquired merchants via various channels, including UPI, POS, and PG.
  • Fraud Detection: Utilize expertise to detect fraudulent merchants and their behavior, identifying patterns and anomalies that may indicate potential risk.
  • Document Verification: Examine and verify documents received from merchants in the event of escalations or observed fraud.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate and inform stakeholders across the unit on frauds and patterns observed.
  • Rule Creation: Inform rule creation for merchant monitoring based on observed patterns.
  • Industry Trends: Stay abreast of fraud trends and MOs in the industry to prevent merchant fraud.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with concerned teams for data requirements.
  • MIS Preparation: Prepare and submit MIS reports to all concerned stakeholders.
  • Discussion Leadership: Independently drive discussions with stakeholders on new requirements and enhanced surveillance.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience in fraud monitoring and analysis.
  • Good understanding of merchant acquiring, payment aggregator business, and UPI fraud.
  • Strong handle on MS Excel - filters, pivot, charts, lookup, etc.
  • Coding in SQL is a plus.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Statistics, or Econometrics preferable.
