Product Development Merchandiser Role

This role involves managing product development, merchandising, sourcing, supplier management and ensuring timely delivery of production.

  • Manage product development from material sourcing to supplier negotiations and timely production as per design requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal and external production teams for effective collaboration and timely delivery of products.
  • Nurture relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
Main Responsibilities
  • Developing, evaluating and presenting pre-development samples to stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and evaluating product performance in terms of fit, construction and durability.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve optimal pricing.
  • Sourcing and managing raw materials, trims and accessories for efficient production processes.
  • Coordinating production timelines and schedules to ensure timely delivery of retail products.
  • Collaborating with design and development teams to understand product specifications, materials and production requirements.
Requirements
  • 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising and production.
  • In-depth knowledge of fabrics, trims and accessories, as well as the factory supplier base.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
