Job Profile: Accounting Specialist

A vital function within our organization is the role of an Accounting Specialist, responsible for supporting payroll-related accounting, vendor payments, statutory compliance, and reporting activities.

This position involves verifying payroll and faculty remuneration data, processing disbursements, booking and reconciling expenses, and assisting with documentation for audits and reports.

The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in financial software and MS Excel, a basic understanding of statutory and payroll compliance, and experience working with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Payroll & Remuneration Support

The candidate will assist in reviewing payroll data of employees, apprentices, and faculty as shared by the HR team. They will ensure accuracy in documentation and verify calculations.

  • Salary Payments & Accounting

The candidate will support the process of obtaining approvals and making salary/remuneration payments. They will also perform basic accounting entries related to salary expenses, provisions, and monthly reconciliations under supervision.

  • Statutory Compliance & GST Handling

The candidate will help verify statutory payment data (PF, ESI, PT) and match them with challans. They will also assist in GST invoice validation and recording in the ERP system.

  • Advance Management & Clearance

The candidate will maintain records of advances given to payroll-related parties and track their clearance status. They will coordinate with the accounts team for due clearance processes.

  • Audit & Reporting Assistance

The candidate will prepare and maintain basic schedules and reports for internal and statutory audits. They will contribute to the preparation of monthly MIS reports as required.

  • Cross-Functional Support

The candidate will work closely with HR, compliance, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and accurate financial processes.
