Finance and Accounting Analyst Position

Hashed Emergent is seeking a highly skilled Finance and Accounting Analyst to join its team. This role involves managing the company's financial operations, providing strategic financial analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, and business management. They will be responsible for:

  • Managing recurring financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning;
  • Applying knowledge of venture capital/fund management processes to support business growth;
  • Developing and implementing financial infrastructure and automation to improve process efficiency;
  • Staying updated on industry best practices and advising leadership accordingly;
  • Collaborating with portfolio companies to adopt best practices in financial planning;
  • Leading year-end financial activities, including tax strategy, audits, and statutory reporting;
  • Contributing to portfolio company fundraising and M&A decision-making;
  • Driving standardization and automation projects to improve process efficiency;
  • Preparing and presenting periodic financial reports and audit findings to leadership;
  • Managing cash flow and preparing runway dashboard reports;
  • Providing ongoing finance-related recommendations to leadership;
  • Leading strategic financial analysis across teams with a deep understanding of Hashed Emergent's financial statements and priorities;
  • Managing and optimizing relationships with third-party accounting vendors and service providers in partnership with team leads;
  • Monitoring macroeconomic trends, the Web3 ecosystem, and internal developments to enable agile financial decision-making;
  • Providing financial insights and due diligence to support portfolio company fundraising and M&A transactions;
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

  • Qualified CA, CFA, or CMA;
  • 2+ years' experience in business finance at a high-growth company, top-tier consulting firm, or investment firm (VC/PE);
  • Strong knowledge in VC / PE / Fund operation - work experience in a fund will be a best fit;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Proven financial modeling experience, including building financial statements, creating projections, and sensitivity analysis;
  • Ability to communicate effectively across teams and leadership, translating financial data into strategic insights;
  • Experience in bookkeeping, auditing, tax preparation, and financial reporting;
  • Track record of maintaining accurate balance sheets and creating data-driven budgets for cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to collaborate with company leadership on key investment and financial decisions;
