Job Description:

A business development lead is required to drive growth in our parametric insurance vertical. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in building sales from scratch, strong industry relationships, and deep knowledge of parametric risk solutions.

The ideal candidate will lead strategic initiatives, build new markets, and drive sustainable revenue in climate-sensitive and underserved segments. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing a go-to-market strategy, building the entire sales function, identifying and converting new business opportunities, developing and managing a robust sales pipeline, forging and managing partnerships with insurers, collaborating cross-functionally with product teams, monitoring market trends and weather data, representing the company at industry forums, building and mentoring a lean sales team, and delivering performance reports and revenue forecasts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, agriculture, climate science, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in business development, preferably in parametric or climate-risk insurance
  • Demonstrated experience in setting up and scaling a sales function from 0 to 100
  • In-depth understanding of parametric insurance products and climate data
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
