Big Data Engineer Position Overview

The organization seeks a skilled Big Data Engineer with expertise in Scala, Spark, Python, NiFi, and Apache Kafka to join its data engineering team.

  • Develop large-scale data pipelines and distributed data processing systems utilizing scalable cloud-based architectures.
  • Design and implement efficient data processing and transformation workflows using Scala, Spark (PySpark), and Python.
  • Design and integrate real-time streaming solutions leveraging Apache Kafka and orchestration tools like NiFi/Airflow.
  • Conduct data analysis and write effective queries using Jupyter Notebooks and SQL for business intelligence purposes.

As part of this role, the candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable data architectures, ensure high-quality code through rigorous testing and performance tuning, build monitoring and alerting systems leveraging Splunk or equivalent tools, participate in CI/CD workflows using Git, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools, and contribute to product development focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
