Strategic Procurement Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Strategic Procurement Expert to join our team. As a key member of the procurement function, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality results in the management of purchasing activities.

Your primary focus will be on executing daily Purchase Orders (POs) efficiently and effectively, ensuring timely and accurate processing to meet operational demands.

You will act as the main point of contact for vendor relationships, handling escalations and performance management with ease. Your expertise in sourcing will enable you to optimize procurement decisions, striking a balance between cost, quality, and delivery across supplier options.

Collaborating closely with the wider procurement team, you will contribute to workflow continuity and actively participate in supplier negotiations and contract discussions to secure favorable terms and long-term value.

To monitor supplier performance and initiate improvement plans for delivery, quality, or service issues. Furthermore, you will support strategic projects, including new product introductions, engineering changes, and supply chain risk mitigation.

You will analyze spend, supplier trends, and market conditions to inform procurement strategy and identify improvement opportunities. Finally, you will work cross-functionally with Planning, Inventory, and Engineering to ensure alignment with production schedules and operational goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Supply chain management experience desirable
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement methods and procedures
  • CIPS qualifications desirable
  • Knowledge of purchasing from machine and fabrication suppliers
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing environment, inventory management, or planning environment
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Word, MS Excel, and Other MS Office Applications
  • ERP knowledge, such as Sage, Oracle, or SAP
  • Working knowledge of Oil and Gas industry in a relevant field desirable
