A Snapshot of Your Day

The mission for the PLE/Engineering Project Manager is to clarify and fully understand contractual documents, coordinate and supervise engineering activities, minimize risk-exposure, create possibilities to increase the EBIT and maintain a good relationship with the customer by leading given promises and agreements made with the customer on time.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Compliance, understanding and clarifications of applicable parts of the contract (technical specifications and other relevant documentation)
  2. Management including coordination of appointed project team members.
  3. Secure that project execution is done in accordance to given technical responsibility of the line function and that project execution is done in accordance to official processes.
  4. Distribution of correct and relevant information/data to the project team and involved Dept-M's in time in order to facilitate vital project engineering.
  5. All technical interfaces during project execution within assigned subject area.

  5. Keeping the PM and, if applicable, other project members well advised when vital.
  6. Presenting suggestions of improvement.
  7. Plan hours vital to handle for the project.
  8. Lead relevant technical area within the project regarding resources, time schedule, order calculation and technical issues.
  9. Get access to the valid project time schedule.
  10. During the project take direct contact with persons involved in the project, both internally and externally.

What You'll Do

  1. Startup, lead and coordinate the appointed technical engineering team for the project according to applicable processes, instructions and guidelines.
  2. Coordinate and continuously ensure the fulfillment of relevant technical specifications and other applicable contractual documents for the project, in order to minimize deviations between actual project scope and customer expectations.
  3. Coordinate engineering activities in the project in order to fulfill applicable engineering based on sprint time schedules and project main time schedule with maintained handover date to customer.
  4. Coordinate technical correspondence and discussions with customer, consortium partners and others involved in accordance to project requirements.
  5. Verify and summarize deviations/risks (internal and external) from a technical and economical point of view for assigned technical area in order to minimize risks for the project.
  6. Verify, prognose and advise PM, CPM and Dept-M about deviations in the order calculation for assigned part during startup of the project but also on a quarterly basis.
  7. Verify and advise PM about deviations between contract (technical specifications or other relevant documents) and actual project status (engineering).
  8. Assist the PM and the CPM with technical recommendations for external claims and possible change orders within the project.
  9. Continuously spread knowledge of the contract to others involved in the project and try to improve the use of standard in the delivery.
  10. Strive to keep a good relationship with the customer, in general but especially from a technical point of view by acting promptly and on time to fulfil given promises and agreements made with the customer.
  11. Encourage involved team members with a positive demeanour.

What You'll Bring

  1. Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with proven track record of 15 - 20 years in Energy/Oil&Gas domain, mainly working with Gas Turbines
  2. Proven experience of 5+ years in Project execution as a Lead
  3. Proven understanding on softwares like PLM2020, Teamcenter, SAP
  4. Knowledge or Certification in Lean and Six Sigma, PMP are preferred.
