Database Systems Administrator

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Database Systems Administrator to manage our PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with database administration, monitoring, and maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing installations, configurations, upgrades, and performance tuning of PostgreSQL databases. They will also implement backup, recovery, and high availability strategies, as well as troubleshoot database-related issues and work closely with development teams to optimize queries.

In addition, the Database Systems Administrator will ensure security, compliance, and best practices are followed. This includes implementing secure access controls, enforcing data encryption, and ensuring regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.

The role requires strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is also essential.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • PostgreSQL DBA / ADBA expertise

Combination Skills (any one or more):

  • Oracle + PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB + PostgreSQL
  • Cassandra + PostgreSQL
  • MySQL + PostgreSQL

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience in database architecture, replication, and clustering
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities
