Geospatial Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled geospatial developer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop and maintain geospatial web applications, leveraging Python and GIS technologies to deliver scalable user-friendly solutions.

You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate spatial data with front-end and back-end systems ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong background in Python programming and experience with full stack development.
  • Expertise in GIS technologies including GeoPandas Shapely Fiona ArcPy or PyQGIS.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML CSS JavaScript and frameworks like React Angular or Vue.js.
  • Experience with database technologies particularly PostgreSQL with PostGIS for geospatial data.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining GIS-based web applications using Python and frameworks like Django or Flask.
  • Designing and implementing interactive dynamic GIS maps using libraries such as GeoPandas Shapely and Folium.
  • Integrating geospatial data with databases e.g. PostgreSQL/PostGIS MySQL or MongoDB and RESTful APIs.
  • Automating geospatial data processing workflows using Python libraries like ArcPy Fiona or PyQGIS.
  • Building responsive front-end interfaces using HTML CSS JavaScript and frameworks like React Angular or Vue.js.
  • Collaborating with data scientists and GIS analysts to productionize geospatial models and visualizations.
  • Optimizing applications for performance scalability and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging issues across the full stack from front-end interfaces to back-end data pipelines.
  • Managing deployment and continuous integration processes using tools like Docker Kubernetes or CI/CD pipelines.
