Academic Expert in Forensic Medicine

This esteemed academic institution seeks an exceptionally qualified and passionate medical professional to join our Faculty as a specialist in the Department of Forensic Medicine.

The role offers an opportunity to contribute to academic excellence through teaching, research, and medico-legal expertise, enriching students with knowledge and experience in forensic pathology, toxicology, and allied fields.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Academia:
    • Deliver lectures, conduct practical sessions, autopsy demonstrations, seminars, and tutorials for undergraduate and postgraduate students in Forensic Medicine & Toxicology.
    • Guide PG students in dissertation work, case discussions, and journal clubs, promoting critical thinking and analytical skills.
    • Integrate forensic principles with clinical and legal practice, fostering interdisciplinary understanding.
  • Research & Publications:
    • Undertake original research projects in forensic pathology, toxicology, medical jurisprudence, and allied fields, collaborating with colleagues to advance knowledge and best practices.
    • Publish research findings in reputable national and international indexed journals, contributing to the body of evidence in forensic medicine.
    • Develop partnerships with other medical and legal departments for interdisciplinary research, enhancing our understanding of complex issues.
  • Clinical / Medico-Legal Work:
    • Supervise and conduct medicolegal autopsies and postmortem examinations, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
    • Provide expert medico-legal opinion in criminal and civil cases, applying knowledge and experience to inform decision-making.
    • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, judiciary, and forensic science laboratories as required, facilitating effective collaboration and communication.
  • Administrative & Leadership:
    • Organize academic events such as conferences, workshops, and training programs, enhancing professional development and networking opportunities.
    • Manage departmental records, museum specimens, and laboratory facilities, ensuring efficient and organized operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MD (Forensic Medicine) with at least 8 years teaching experience, including 3 years as Associate Professor (as per NMC norms), plus research publications and demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • MD (Forensic Medicine) with at least 5 years teaching experience, including 2 years as Assistant Professor, plus research publications and strong potential for academic growth.

  • Excellent teaching, mentoring, and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and facilitate collaborative learning environments.
