We are seeking a visionary leader to oversee the publication process of our esteemed Journal. This role involves leading cross-functional teams across peer review, content writing, and video production to ensure timely delivery of high-quality scientific publications.

The Role Summary

This leadership position will involve overseeing the manuscript workflow from peer review to publication, prioritizing timeliness, quality, and adherence to journal standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing publication workflows and have a strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to ensure efficient publishing operations.
  • Oversee the manuscript workflow, ensuring timeliness, quality, and adherence to journal standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, such as AI, to optimize workflows and enhance productivity.
  • Establish team KPIs and departmental goals, monitoring performance and ensuring accountability.
  • Maintain scientific rigor and editorial excellence across all published content, aligning with journal standards.
Requirements
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences.
  • 10+ years of experience in academic, scientific publishing, or edtech content production, specializing in managing publication workflows.
  • 7+ years of proven management experience.
  • A strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.
  • Experience with digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology and digital tools to improve publishing workflows, quality, and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • A self-starter with a results-driven mindset, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
