Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional Import Ocean Freight Manager to lead our import operations. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Pricing Strategies: Develop cost-effective pricing models to ensure optimal cost control.
  • Negotiation: Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, co-loaders, and overseas agents through effective negotiation techniques.
  • Operations Management: Oversee pre-alerts, booking coordination, documentation, customs compliance, and end-to-end import shipment handling.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor the import operations team, allocating resources, setting KPIs, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing training.
  • Financial Management: Monitor departmental P&L, ensure cost control, and prepare regular budgets.
  • Customer Service: Maintain high standards of customer service, promptly resolving issues and ensuring consistent client satisfaction.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • International Import Practices: Strong knowledge of international import practices, customs clearance procedures, documentation, and INCOTERMS.
  • Leadership: Excellent leadership and people management abilities.
  • Negotiation & Communication: Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
