Chief Database Engineer

Job Description:
As a senior database administrator, you will play a critical role in creating and managing databases to support the organization's growth strategy.
The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in database engineering, administration, and support, with a minimum of 4+ years specifically in MySQL databases.
You will be responsible for assisting in the design and development of database systems, optimizing database systems for performance and reliability, performing database maintenance and troubleshooting activities, testing database systems, and providing technical assistance to resolve database issues.
Additionally, you will be expected to develop database functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development, maintain standard policies for database development activities, and mentor junior database administrators.
A strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL landscapes, as well as proficiency in one or more scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Shell, is essential for this role.
Other desirable skills include proficiency in Elastic and Redis, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and professional work experience.
