The role of an Agri Commodities Trader is to monitor and analyze the domestic and international markets for agricultural commodities.

Responsibilities include executing trades in physical or derivatives markets, creating and analyzing spread/arbitrage opportunities, and developing relationships with farmers, brokers, processors, exporters, importers, and institutional clients.

Key skills required include a bachelor's degree in agriculture, economics, business, or related field, as well as in-depth knowledge of agricultural markets and commodities, understanding of trading platforms and exchanges, and proficiency in data analysis, market intelligence tools, and Excel.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a strong attention to detail.

Additionally, they will be responsible for negotiating contracts and prices for the procurement and sale of commodities, analyzing weather patterns, crop reports, government policies, and global trade data to inform trading strategies.

Mitigating risk using hedging strategies via commodity exchanges like NCDEX, MCX, and CBOT is also a key responsibility.

The ideal candidate will be able to maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on trading activities.

They will also be expected to stay up-to-date with market trends and developments, and make recommendations to senior management accordingly.
