Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Management is a key function within our organization, requiring the ability to monitor and manage patients with multi-organ dysfunction, sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac events, and other critical illnesses.
  • Advanced Life Support Skills:
  • Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation (invasive/non-invasive), inotropes, vasopressors, and fluid therapy, as well as central line and arterial line monitoring.
  • Perform routine clinical assessments and daily progress notes.
Emergency Response
  • Respond to Code Blue and rapid response calls, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • Assist in the initial stabilization of ICU admissions and emergency transfers, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
Procedural Duties
  • Perform endotracheal intubation, central venous and arterial cannulation, chest tube insertions, and basic bedside ultrasound procedures, if trained.
Leadership & Coordination
  • Supervise junior doctors and interns posted in ICU, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Coordinate with the ICU nursing team, respiratory therapists, and consultants for seamless patient care delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation, shift handovers, and compliance with medico-legal protocols.
Communication & Documentation
  • Effectively communicate patient status to consultants and family members, fostering open communication and transparency.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of clinical notes, drug charts, and procedural documentation, adhering to established standards.
Infection Control & Safety
  • Adhere to ICU protocols, including infection control and isolation precautions, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance, clinical audits, and mortality reviews, driving continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Medical Officer: MBBS from a recognized university, valid NMC / State Medical Council registration, and 1–3 years' experience in ICU / emergency / high-dependency settings preferred.
  • Principal Medical Officer: MBBS with 5+ years of ICU experience, additional certifications in ACLS / BLS / Critical Care Medicine preferred, leadership or supervisory experience in hospital settings required.
Skills & Competencies
  • Sound knowledge of critical care protocols and emergency response, skilled in patient monitoring, clinical decision-making, and basic ICU procedures.
  • Effective team coordination and communication skills, ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, compassionate and ethical approach to patient care.
