Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive strategic direction for data platforms and pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with risk evaluation.
  • Promote technical excellence throughout the engineering organization, providing guidance on data platform design, deployment, and evolution.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with product teams, professional services, and sales engineers to deliver impactful solutions and optimize trade-offs.
  • Lead technology explorations and roadmaps, staying ahead of industry trends and advancements.
  • Empower cross-functional teams by serving as a technical lead and ensuring the quality of architecture and design.
  • Break down complex problems into actionable, straightforward solutions.
  • Maintain deep understanding of system interdependencies and limitations.
  • Develop expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices.
  • Leverage prior art in design decisions, effectively researching and benchmarking cloud technologies.
  • Document requirements clearly, enabling developers to execute efficiently.
  • Assist developers in meeting expectations and support career growth through mentoring and training.
  • Exert technical influence across multiple teams, increasing productivity and effectiveness through shared knowledge and expertise.

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of total experience, with 4+ years focused on Big Data solution design and architecture using Spark.
  • 3+ years of experience working with engineering resources for innovation.
  • 4+ years of experience understanding Big Data events flow pipeline.
  • 3+ years of experience in performance testing for large infrastructure.
  • In-depth experience with various search solutions, Kafka, Data lakes, messaging queues, caching components, Presto, Airflow, scripting, automation, RDBMS/NoSQL, Oracle, Cassandra, Hadoop, lambda architectures, kappa, kappa++, Flink data streaming, rule engines, ML models, secure big data clusters, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading delivery of large-scale systems, performance benchmarking, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Agile Management (SCRUM, RUP, XP), OO Modeling, internet, UNIX, Middleware, database projects, and project management.
