As a Database Administrator, you will collaborate with senior developers to design, test, plan, protect and implement databases for our department.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize database performance by managing locking, process blocking and tuning
  • Create and maintain high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture
  • Manage, optimize, test and verify backup and restoration processes
  • Develop and deploy monitoring and metrics tooling and dashboards for database performance insights
  • Proactively manage infrastructure, anticipating and mitigating potential issues
  • Handle support tickets, providing assistance to peers
  • Develop and deploy new database objects, modifying existing ones including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.
  • Design and create complex relational database reports using SSRS

Required Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL
  • Proficiency in SSMS, SSRS and support tooling
  • Knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures and day-to-day DB functions
  • Expertise in optimizing MSSQL, supporting HA/DR, etc.
  • Strong understanding of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design
  • Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is advantageous
  • Analyzing and troubleshooting complex problems
  • Prioritizing tasks based on current workload requirements
  • Implementing best-practices aligned with team standards
  • Communicating ideas and suggestions effectively to manager and peers
  • Reviewing and offering constructive criticism to peers' changes and code
  • Experience with cloud database storage technologies
