Job Title: Insurance Underwriting Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Agriculture Insurance Underwriter to develop and implement comprehensive insurance solutions tailored to agricultural needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and underwriting agriculture insurance policies with the highest level of precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwriting Assessment:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of risks associated with agriculture-related insurance applications, including crops, livestock, machinery, and farm infrastructure.
  • Risk Evaluation:
  • Utilize in-depth analysis of agricultural risks using historical data, climate forecasts, farm management practices, and geographic factors to identify potential risks.
  • Policy Development:
  • Design and recommend suitable coverage levels and policy terms based on risk assessments and market conditions.
  • Loss Mitigation:
  • Collaborate with loss control teams to suggest effective risk management strategies to mitigate potential losses.
  • Data Analysis:
  • Employ various analytical tools and techniques to assess risk, including geographic information systems (GIS), historical weather data, and crop yield reports.
  • Client Consultation:
  • Engage closely with clients, agents, and brokers to explain underwriting decisions and provide clear insights into policy coverage.
  • Compliance:
  • Ensure that all underwriting practices adhere to regulatory guidelines and company policies, upholding local, regional, and national agricultural insurance regulations.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with actuaries to develop pricing models for agriculture insurance products and partner with claims teams to assess and manage loss events.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed reports on underwriting activities, including risk assessments, policy performance, and market trends.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of agriculture production, climate risks, and farm operations.
  • Knowledge of agricultural insurance products, including crop, livestock, and farm insurance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex risks.
  • Familiarity with underwriting software and tools, including risk modeling and GIS systems.
