Job Title: Process Development Program Lead Lifestyle Nutrition Formats

The position of Process Development Program Lead is responsible for driving process development and product formulation optimization to deliver business benefits without impacting product characteristics, sensory, and quality parameters.

This role requires partnering with business teams and stakeholders to develop alternative vendors and new raw materials as per business requirements. The incumbent will also be responsible for processing projects to create novel formulation-led and process-led product innovations that meet consumer needs and grow the Lifestyle Nutrition category business.

New technology platforms and processes must be developed in accordance with agreed product and consumer requirements. The incumbent will own continuous improvement on existing technology platforms and develop predictive technologies to maximize technology availability while minimizing quality and product incidents.

The role involves providing inputs for technical upgrades on process improvements in supply chain management with minimal impact on existing products. Formulations suitable for new formats and technologies must be developed, and optimized processes and process parameters must be established for new technologies applied to existing formulations.

The incumbent will ensure due support is provided to supply chain and existing business to improve product quality and cost. Product transfers and stabilizations between sites must be supported through providing key insights into product characteristics.

Compliance to internal Unilever protocols and external regulatory environments must be ensured while developing product/process and technology solutions with respect to commitment to safety, environment, claim support, specification management, etc.

A goal-oriented Process/formulation engineer/Executive with a track record of delivering projects is required. This person should be passionate about creating processes for new products and commercially astute, digitally savvy, with a strong scientific understanding of complex nutritional products.

Requirements:

  • Significant personal expertise and strong scientific understanding to assess risk and build mitigation plans.
  • Working experience (3-5 years minimum) in food/manufacturing technologies related to Biscuit/Nutrition Bar/RTD categories.
  • Product/process/technology development expertise and experience in Biscuit/Nutrition Bar/food products.
  • Ability to develop good-tasting fortified or nutrition products in different formats using various emerging technologies as platforms.
  • Good understanding of baking technology and science, cereal chemistry, and protein technology.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Chemical/Process Engineering, Dairy/Food Technology/Engineering, or related disciplines. Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Strong digital skills including SAP & PLM.
