Geographic Information System Developer

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team in designing, developing, and implementing GIS solutions using various technologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science or a related field, with 2+ years of experience in software development, particularly in GIS solutions.

You should have hands-on experience with publishing and administering map services, tuning and troubleshooting map services, maintaining and administering geodatabases, and working with open-source GIS software like GeoServer, PostGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas, and GeoSpark.

Additionally, you should be proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, and TypeScript, and have experience working with web frameworks like Angular, React, Node.js, and Openlayers.

Also, you should have knowledge of SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL, and be able to work in an agile environment using Scrum and Kanban.

  • Design, develop, and implement GIS solutions using GeoServer, ArcGIS Server, PostGIS, and ESRI APIs
  • Publish and administer map services for optimal performance
  • Maintain and administer geodatabases using PostGIS, ArcGIS GeoDBs
  • Work with open-source GIS software like GeoServer, PostGIS, GDAL, GeoPandas, and GeoSpark

  • Experience in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Experience in the upstream oil/gas industry
  • Experience with technologies such as Google Big Query, Airflow, Elastic Search, Spark, Kafka, Git, Azure DevOps, Terraform, VS Code, Kubernetes
  • Ability to analytically address complex problems, process critical data, establish facts, and draw quality conclusions
  • Ability to quickly learn and debug large complex systems in ambiguous situations
  • Outgoing personality and a good team player
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in communicating with people at various levels of the organization
