Job Title: Cloudflare WAF Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Cloudflare WAF Specialist to join our team at Teknikoz. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Cloudflare WAF rules, ensuring seamless protection against web threats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Cloudflare WAF rules, page shields, and threat intelligence filters to minimize false positives and maximize protection.
  • Tune policies to enable defense against OWASP Top 10 threats.
  • Monitor web traffic anomalies, bot activity, and take proactive measures to prevent potential issues.
  • Integrate WAF alerts with central SIEM/SOC for real-time visibility and situational awareness.
  • Collaborate with app teams to validate WAF configurations before production rollout, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Troubleshoot WAF blocks, performance issues, and content caching anomalies to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Maintain access control, rate limiting, and geo-restriction rules to ensure secure application access.
  • Generate reports for application owners and participate in threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Assist L3 in rule set upgrades, custom signatures, and API security enhancements to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Participate in DR drills and ensure WAF availability in failover scenarios to guarantee business continuity.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent (e.g., Akamai, AWS WAF) for 5-7 years.
  • Thorough understanding of web protocols, application headers, and TLS.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and app security standards.

Certifications:

  • Cloudflare Certified WAF Practitioner (if available)
  • CEH or GIAC Web Application Defender (GWEB)
  • OWASP Top 10 – mastery preferred
