Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven engineering manager to lead our e-commerce search and catalog engineering teams. This leader will be responsible for building and scaling world-class search and product discovery experiences that power our grocery retail platform.

Roles and responsibilities include leading and growing high-performing engineering teams focused on search relevance, catalog management, and product discovery. The ideal candidate will define and execute the technical roadmap for search and catalog platforms, aligning with business goals and customer needs.

The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally with product, data science, UX, and business teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions. They will champion engineering excellence, agile practices, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Additionally, the individual must ensure high availability, performance, resiliency, and modularity of search and catalog services. They will stay ahead of industry trends in AI/ML, search technologies, and e-commerce innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles and people management experience.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale search, catalog, or recommendation systems in a high-traffic e-commerce environment.
  • Deep understanding of search technologies, such as Elasticsearch, Solr, vector search, and LLMs.
  • Working knowledge of PIM systems and data ingestion pipelines (ETL/ELT).
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to make architectural decisions and lead engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A problem-solver with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and project management skills.
  • Inspiring team leadership style, both for direct reports and internal team members.
