Engineering Manager Job Description

We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our eCommerce Search and Catalog engineering teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and scaling world-class search and product discovery experiences that power our grocery retail platform.

You will drive the technical strategy, architecture, and execution of our Search and Catalog systems, ensuring seamless, personalized, and high-performance experiences for millions of customers.

  • Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams focused on search relevance, catalog management, and product discovery.
  • Define and execute the technical roadmap for search and catalog platforms, aligning with business goals and customer needs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, UX, and Business teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions.

Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles and people management experience.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale search, catalog, or recommendation systems in a high-traffic eCommerce environment.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Java and Microservices architecture
  • Elastic Search/Solr or similar
  • Omnichannel Product Catalog management and integration with PIM and other systems
  • NOSQL DB (MongoDB / Cassandra)
  • Event Streaming (Kafka or similar) and Distributing Computing (Spark / Databricks)
