Job Title: Emergency Medical Specialist

Main Responsibilities:
  • Critical Care:
  1. Rapidly respond to emergency situations and provide advanced medical interventions as required.
  2. Evaluate patients' conditions, prioritize care, and implement necessary treatments.
  3. Monitor vital signs and medical indicators during transportation.
Patient Support:
  1. Document patient care thoroughly, including treatments and medications administered.
  2. Effectively communicate patient status and care details with hospital staff and medical professionals.
  3. Provide emotional support to patients and their families in emergency situations.
Teamwork:
  1. Collaborate with EMS personnel, law enforcement, firefighters, and other first responders to manage patient care at the scene.
  2. Participate in debriefings and reviews to enhance service delivery and patient care.
Equipment Maintenance:
  1. Ensure medical equipment is operational and well-stocked.
  2. Regularly inspect and maintain vehicles and medical equipment.
Professional Development:
  1. Engage in ongoing education and training programs to maintain licensure and certifications.
  2. Mentor and guide less experienced EMTs and other EMS staff members.
Regulatory Compliance:
  1. Avoid non-compliance with state, federal, and local healthcare regulations and protocols.
  2. Strictly adhere to HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality.
Safety Protocols:
  1. Follow established safety procedures to minimize injury risk.
  2. Accurately and promptly report incidents and accidents to supervisors.
Requirements:
  • Education/Experience:
  1. Highest level of academic attainment or equivalent.
  2. Completion of a reputable paramedic training program.
  3. Active state certification and licensure as a Paramedic.
Certifications:
  1. Valid state Paramedic license.
  2. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  4. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  1. Strong clinical expertise in emergency medicine.
  2. Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  3. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  4. Physical stamina to handle job demands.
