Job Summary:

Bechtel is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Quality Supervisor to join our team in Gurgaon. This full-time position involves providing supplier quality supervision to a project, including participation in project and shop quality surveillance in accordance with Bechtel Supplier Quality & Expediting Inc. (BSQE), Global Business Unit (GBU) and project procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and administer Quality Surveillance Assignments (QSAs) for source surveillance, surveys and audits as required for the project.
  • Coordinate with SQ Regional Managers and Supervisors for the allocation of resources for intended QSA's.
  • Review material requisitions including technical specifications with respect to quality requirements and participate with Engineering in determining the levels of surveillance required and establishing witness and hold points.
  • Assist in the development of the final bid list and the selection of a recommended bidder.
  • Participate in pre-award and post-award meetings/conferences with suppliers to review Area Supplier Quality's right of access, release for shipment authority, and notification on witness and hold points during quality surveillance activities.
  • Prepare quality surveillance and capability survey assignments for execution by the assigned Area Supplier Quality Specialists.
  • Investigate quality issues reported to the GBU Supplier Quality Manager on equipment/materials where quality surveillance has been performed.
  • Review, edit, accept and distribute reports in accordance with this Manual and Project Procedures. Ensure survey and audit reports are approved and then posted into GSIS.
  • Regularly check anomaly code information and assignment information which has been siphoned from Quality Surveillance Reports into SAM is accurate and make any necessary corrections.
  • Participate in bidder pre-award and post-award activities and utilize SAM metric reports in bidder pre-award and post-award meetings and provide to SQR's to discuss known issues with suppliers during initial visits.
  • Coordinate review, obtain and resolve Project Quality Assurance and Engineering comments on quality surveillance plans when required by Project Procedures and Engineering Department Procedure Instructions (EDPI's).
  • Monitor and report quality metrics established by the functional Supplier Quality Manager.
  • Notify the PPM and responsible project personnel of any significant problems and initiate timely follow-up.
  • Record and trend out of scope work resulting from activities being undertaken that were not originally estimated or planned.
  • Provide supplier submittal document registers to SQR's when requested or on a managed regular basis.
  • Facilitate communication between on and off project personnel across disciplines; provide project direction to assigned Supplier Quality Specialists and coordinate communication between Supplier Quality Specialists and project personnel to assist in resolving technical and quality issues arising from area/shop Supplier Quality activities. Represent Supplier Quality in project meetings, project reviews, and in the resolution of issues relating to supplier quality.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant construction project & industry experience in supplier quality, expediting, inspection, audits and testing activities. Basic to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Prior supervisory experience or training in personnel evaluation and administration, assignment, and monitoring of workloads and in supervision and training of technical personnel.
