Sr / AM – Proposal Engineer

Sales & Marketing

Job Summary:

This role involves working closely with customers, sales team, operations, and other stakeholders to achieve booking targets. Responsibilities include interpreting customer requests, determining proposal objectives, and meeting customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret customer requests to establish an understanding of requirements.
  • Liaise with customers to build further understanding of requirements.
  • Determine proposal objectives and key options, coordinating supply of necessary information.
  • Review P&ID and project specifications to arrive at technical requirements.
  • Work with Engineering, Commercial, and Project Managers to evaluate technical risk and commercial terms.
  • Prepare RFQs for suppliers/subcontractors against specs and T&Cs.
  • Compile comprehensive tender specifications defining prices, commercial conditions, and technical specifications.
  • Support Sales Manager/Sector Managers/Sales Engineers during the bid-process.
  • Act as focal point for customer queries regarding proposal submission.
  • Monitor progress and status of proposals, maintaining accurate records.
  • Support Project team during handover of proposals that resulted in orders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
  • Minimum 8-15 years' experience in proposals and estimation, preferably in similar industrial products.
  • P&ID understanding.
  • Instrument knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Drives results and takes initiatives to achieve goals.
  • Good relationship builder with ability to merge different groups of people, processes, and tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
