Job Title: Cloud Systems Engineer

The role of a Cloud Systems Engineer is to design, deploy and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable cloud architecture for EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases and Lambda functions.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure backup high-availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place.
  • Develop and monitor automation scripts and tools for provisioning configuration and maintenance of cloud and on-prem resources.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze trends and implement betterments to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance standards to safeguard cloud environments.
  • Administer company SaaS platforms to enhance productivity of users.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior cloud engineers and other team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services features and best practices and evaluate their applicability to our infrastructure.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing implementing and managing AWS cloud solutions.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures including IaaS PaaS and SaaS.
  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2 S3 RDS IAM Lambda CloudFormation and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies e.g. Docker Kubernetes and orchestration tools e.g. ECS EKS is a plus.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform Ansible or CloudFormation.
  • Proven hands-on experience supporting Okta SSO Platform.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies including TCP/IP VPN DNS and routing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environment.
