Lease Accounting Manager

Job Description:
The Lease Accounting Manager, Financial Operations Specialist leads a team of lease accountants and accounting coordinators to ensure complete and accurate financial close, internal and external reporting, and end-to-end lease cycle management. This position ensures that lease accounting policies (in accordance with US GAAP ASC 842) are executed and documented, along with appropriate governance, controls, and segregation of duties. This role requires collaboration with other functional teams and franchisees to create efficiency, automation, and standardization over the entire process. Key responsibilities include managing lease accounting operations, supervising staff, reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations, researching discrepancies between payments and billings, providing customer service, and integrating processes across acquired brands into centralized teams, processes, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage lease accounting operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company policy and procedures for accurate and timely reporting and payment/billing of leases.
- Supervise/coach staff of up to five people and assist in their professional development.
- Review monthly P&L accounts related to CAM and taxes and research discrepancies between payments and billings to franchisees.
- Review daily/weekly/monthly activity prepared by the lease group, including percent rent payments/billings, CAM reconciliations, rebilling to franchisees, invoice adjustments, etc., ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
