Lead Cybersecurity Engineer

About the Cybersecurity Role

Our organization seeks a seasoned Lead Cybersecurity Engineer / Security Architect to strengthen security posture across cloud, applications, and enterprise infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in cybersecurity strategy, cloud security, DevSecOps automation, risk governance, and incident response with a proven record of leading security transformations in large-scale organizations.

This is a senior permanent role where the candidate will be expected to build the Cybersecurity team from the ground up and lead the Cyber Security vertical ensuring robust governance scalability and long-term resilience for the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Security Leadership: Design implement and manage enterprise-wide security architecture and frameworks across multi-cloud environments.
• Secure SDLC Adoption: Lead secure software development life cycle adoption threat modeling application security reviews and WAF implementation.
• DevSecOps Practices: Drive DevSecOps practices including automation of compliance checks vulnerability management and secure infrastructure provisioning.

• Cybersecurity Vertical Ownership: Establish and grow the Cybersecurity team from the ground up setting up processes frameworks and best practices.
• Team Leadership: Act as the head of the Cybersecurity vertical accountable for strategy execution and reporting to leadership.
• Talent Development: Build a strong pipeline of security talent and mentor engineers to achieve maturity in security operations.

• Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Business Risk Translation: Partner with leadership to balance business needs with security risk tolerance translating technical risk into actionable business decisions.
• Security Policy Improvement: Continuously improve security policies procedures and audit readiness.

• Cybersecurity Operations & Incident Response: Work with SOC and Incident Response teams to detect investigate and remediate security threats and incidents.
• Incident Response Playbooks: Develop and optimize incident response playbooks to improve containment recovery and resilience.
• Proactive Monitoring: Implement proactive monitoring and security automation to reduce exposure to malicious events.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to embed security best practices across development and infrastructure teams.
• Mentorship: Provide strategic mentorship to engineers and stakeholders on threat trends secure coding and compliance.
• Security Culture Promotion: Lead documentation training and awareness programs to promote a strong security culture.

Qualifications:

• Education: Master's in Computer Science (Preferred Texas A&M or equivalent) and Bachelor's in Computer Science/Engineering.
• Experience: 17+ years of proven cybersecurity experience across cloud DevSecOps application security and compliance.
• Certifications: ISC2 CCSP AWS Solutions Architect (Pro) Azure Security Engineer CEH Master Google Cloud Architect ITIL.
• Technical Expertise: Hands-on expertise in AWS/Azure security services IAM Terraform Okta/AD CI/CD pipelines secure network design VPCs firewalls WAFs application and product security reviews security automation and compliance monitoring tools.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership stakeholder management and communication skills.
