Job Title:

DCS System Specialist

A DCS system specialist is responsible for overseeing the entire Distributed Control System (DCS) project lifecycle, encompassing requirement analysis, design, engineering, FAT/SAT, and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of end-to-end Distributed Control System (DCS) project execution
  • Analysis, design, engineering, FAT/SAT, and commissioning responsibilities
  • Onsite loop checking, system configuration, and troubleshooting tasks
  • Manual testing of DCS modules, I/O cards, and HMI logic
  • Validation of communication protocols including Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, OPC, HART, TCP/IP
  • Preparation and review of wiring diagrams, IO lists, terminal layouts, and coordination with shop floor teams
  • Documentation and execution of FAT/SAT procedures; direct interface with customers during validation processes
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams including commissioning, QA, and controls engineering departments
  • Utilization of test management tools (JIRA, HP ALM, TestLink) for documentation and defect tracking

Essential Skills:

  • At least 4+ years of hands-on experience on major DCS platforms (ABB, Yokogawa, Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider)
  • Proven experience in DCS project execution: FAT, SAT, loop testing, field commissioning
  • Strong expertise in manual testing methodologies
  • Knowledge of industrial protocols and interface standards
  • Hands-on experience with wiring diagram preparation, cable routing, panel layouts, BOM preparation
  • Proficiency in test documentation, reports, and root-cause analysis
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and ability to coordinate shop floor activities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to join immediately or short notice periods
  • Experience in electrical panel testing or E&I commissioning
  • OEM or EPC background preferred
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Shell) is beneficial
