You will promote an 'Automate-first' culture in operating services through reduction of toil, develop methodologies and strategies for identification of toil-heavy and inefficient processes, and automate these processes.
Roles and Responsibilities- Define the Vision: Develop and implement the SRE strategy to drive business success.
- Reduce Toil: Promote an 'Automate-first' culture to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
- Identify Opportunities: Identify toil-heavy and inefficient processes and develop strategies for automation.
- Develop Metrics: Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality/SLA, and optimize delivery.
- Implement SLOs: Work with all parties to develop and implement Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services.
- Design Monitoring Strategy: Define monitoring strategy with Engineering and implement appropriate capabilities.
- Reliability Improvements: Design and implement reliability improvements to ensure high-quality services.
- Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning to ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Chaos Engineering: Perform chaos engineering exercises to test system resilience.
- Architectural Reviews: Lead architectural reviews for reliability to ensure sound design principles.
- Incident Response: Drive continuous improvement from incidents to minimize downtime.
- Test and Deployment: Contribute to Test and Deployment processes ensuring they are reliable and automated.
