
Reinsurance Domain Expert

Expertise in Reinsurance Operations is required for this role.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of reinsurance principles, contracts, and market practices to support client onboarding.
This involves verifying, validating, and authenticating documents submitted by clients to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Data collection, storage, processing, and retrieval are also key responsibilities in managing business operations and decision-making.
The specialist will handle inquiries from reinsurers and clients, submit documents to reinsurers, monitor agreements, and follow up with clients and reinsurers.
The role requires:
- Assisting junior technicians with technical queries and troubleshooting systems issues.
- Ensuring own work and the work of junior technicians are processed accurately and in accordance with internal and external KPIs/SLAs.
- Producing all necessary documentation per market requirements to support claims advice and fund collection/payouts.
- Maintaining accurate records of all communications (written only) with clients (internal and external) and underwriters, and ensuring e-filing is done according to written procedures.
- Adhering to statutory regulations and company procedures as outlined in the Operating Policies & Guidance Manual/Operating Procedures Manual/Claims Procedures.
- A good understanding and processing capability in systems and ECF, and ability to work on the London IMR.
- Protecting clients, colleagues, and business interests while processing work.
- Contributing to a supported and flexible working environment that meets business needs.
- Achieving individual performance measures and targets set within performance appraisal.
- Understanding and contributing to departmental KPIs and SLAs.
- Enhancing customer/client experience and adding value to end-to-end business processes.
- Demonstrating professional communication skills at all levels within the organization and with external customers.
- Maintaining relevant records/logs/timesheets and work hygiene as required by management and for MIS purposes.
- Participating in training programs or learning sessions to enhance job skills or those nominated by managers.
- Conducting training to team members on complex reinsurance terms and practices to improve knowledge.
- Building technical expertise and business knowledge associated with the process as deemed necessary by line manager.
We require experience in the Reinsurance domain (minimum 3 years), basic understanding of insurance principles, terminologies, and reinsurance concepts and practices, good written and verbal communication skills, good typing speed, logical reasoning and prioritization skills, problem-solving and analytical skills, proficiency with MS Outlook and MS Excel.
Prior experience in interacting with international customers, excellent presentation and MS Office PowerPoint skills, and basic understanding of risk and financial regulatory bodies are desirable.
