
Financial Risk Manager

This position is part of the Compliance department and involves investigating alerts generated by different surveillance systems to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. Our approach is risk-based, with complementary checks and controls in place to manage financial crime related risks.
The Financial Crime Monitoring Team is responsible for identifying these risks and escalating them to respective regional or global Compliance teams for review and action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to global and regional Financial Crime related policies and procedures.
- Provide advice to Senior Management and other stakeholders on Financial Crime Related Matters.
- Escalate issues requiring management attention and review in a timely manner.
- Implement best practices and minimum operating standards with regional stakeholders.
- Review alerts against international sanctions, politically exposed persons, and adverse media lists.
- Advise on Anti-bribery and Corruption matters including Gift and Entertainment escalations and Sanctions.
- Assist in reviewing suspicious activities or transactions and support the Money Laundering Reporting officer.
- Participate in projects resulting from changes in legal or regulatory requirements and new business strategies.
- Liaise with stakeholders on relevant Financial Crime matters.
- Support execution of senior management functional responsibilities as applicable.
- Prepare and present Management Information Systems to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Deliver quality results in accordance with standard operating procedures and timeframes.
- Adhere strictly to firm-wide and process-related guidelines.
- Identify and mitigate processing and operational risks proactively.
Domain/Technical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Basic understanding of Investment Banking business and Financial Regulatory environment.
- Sound knowledge of AML, KYC, Sanctions and Conflict of Interest regulations.
- Prior experience in Securities or Financial services industry.
- Strong product knowledge of financial products.
- Excellent MS Office skills, Presentation, MIS, Data Analysis, Project Management.
- Able to think critically and outside the box.
- Excellent communication skills with external stakeholders.
- Detailed orientated with an eye for detail.
- Compliance background.
- Advanced Excel functions and macros skills.
- Able to multitask and handle pressure situations.
- Flexible and adaptable to change.
