Job Title: Application Packaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Application Packaging Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for packaging software applications for deployment on various platforms. Your primary focus will be on creating high-quality packages that meet customer standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Package software applications according to customer specifications.
  • Evaluate application package service requests and confirm software readiness.
  • Create and publish packages to the PreProd environment for unit testing.
  • Script and automate installation, uninstallation, and reinstallation processes.
  • Remedy defects identified before, during, or after deployment.
  • Release packages for quality assurance and user acceptance testing.
  • Update configuration management systems and notify requestors.
  • Serve as a point-of-contact for application packaging services and communicate proactively.
  • Provide technical input and training to packaging requestors.
  • Monitor the end-to-end application packaging process and resolve incidents.
  • Manage and archive packages, binaries, and package sources.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Requirements:
  • Strong experience in MSI and/or App-V application packaging.
  • Proficiency in scripting using Windows Command Shell Script, VBScript, or PowerShell (preferably).
  • Expertise in virtualizing applications through sequencing.
  • Experience with tools like PowerShell, Admin Studio, AppV4, PDQDeploy, Orca, PictureTaker, and InstallShield.
  • Understanding of standard packaging processes and workflows.
  • Knowledge of desktop deployments for Windows platforms.
  • Experience in publishing apps on Citrix is desired, along with expertise in shimming.
