Job Overview:

The Lead IT Infrastructure Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure to ensure seamless communication between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure to ensure high availability, low latency, redundancy, and security.
  • Collaborate with production and IT teams to align network infrastructure with operational needs of continuous production processes.
  • Lead the installation and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance to identify potential bottlenecks and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and modernization initiatives that include security features and future-ready wireless infrastructure solutions like Private 5G and WiFi 6.
  • Ensure network scalability to support future production needs and business growth.
  • Implement and enforce network security policies and controls in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Manage relationships with network vendors and external partners to ensure timely delivery, implementation, and support for network hardware and services.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in designing and managing large-scale production network deployment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of network security practices and protocols, including VPN, intrusion detection, and VLAN management.
  • Experience in implementing OT/IT network integration and proficient in managing both wired and wireless network infrastructure, with experience in optimizing systems for large-scale industrial use.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting network issues and implementing solutions in a time-sensitive production environment.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and drive continuous improvements in network performance.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in managing production floor network infrastructure in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade network equipment (like Cisco, Juniper) and network monitoring tools.
  • Proven experience in leading network architecture projects and managing security protocols.
