Senior PostgreSQL Engineer Role

This position is open for an experienced Senior PostgreSQL Support Engineer to work in a dynamic environment.

Job Description:
  • Act as the final escalation point for complex incidents, investigating performance degradation and data corruption.
  • Design and automate deployments of PostgreSQL in Kubernetes with Operators, crafting Helm charts, CRDs, and automation through Terraform or Ansible.
  • Profile slow queries, balance workloads, and architect capacity planning.
  • Build and operate resilient clusters with Patroni, repmgr, streaming replication, synchronous replication, and DR strategies.
  • Architect end-to-end pipelines in Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager, VictoriaMetrics, and integrate with ELK/EFK stacks for logs and traces.
  • Implement encryption at rest and in transit, role-based access control, and audit logging.
  • Cultivate junior engineers in best practices, including schema design, indexing strategies, partitioning, and PL/pgSQL development patterns.
Key Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience administering PostgreSQL in production at scale.
  • Deep expertise in Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu) and shell scripting (Bash, Python).
  • Proven track record working with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators.
  • Mastery of performance tuning, query plans, WAL tuning, connection pooling.
  • Hands-on experience with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stacks.
