PostgreSQL Database Migration Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Database Migration Expert to lead and execute the migration of databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth experience in database administration, migration strategies, and performance optimization, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Migration Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive migration plans for databases from Oracle (11g/12c/19c) to PostgreSQL (12+), including schema, data, and logic conversion
- Code Optimization: Convert and optimize PL/SQL code to PL/pgSQL, ensuring functional equivalency and performance improvements.
- Performance Analysis: Analyze and optimize database performance post-migration, addressing issues related to query performance, indexing, and data retrieval
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3–8 years in database migration and administration, with a focus on Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations
- Database Proficiency: Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, and PL/pgSQL.
- Migration Tools: Experience with tools like ora2pg, pgLoader, AWS DMS, and Flyway.
- Performance Tuning: Proficiency in PostgreSQL performance tuning, indexing, and replication
