Software Engineer (Build Tools and CI/CD)

We are seeking a skilled software engineer with expertise in build tools and continuous integration and delivery pipelines.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for migrating our existing Ant-based build system to either Maven or Gradle, while preserving the current project structure. Additionally, they will be instrumental in establishing a robust CI/CD pipeline within GitHub to streamline our development and deployment processes.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Migrate the build system to either Maven or Gradle, ensuring minimal disruption to the development workflow.
  • Maintain the existing project structure for compiled and built files to avoid compatibility issues.
  • Optimize the build process for performance and efficiency.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive CI/CD pipeline using GitHub Actions.
  • Integrate the CI/CD pipeline with the chosen build tool (Maven or Gradle).
  • Implement automated testing, code quality checks, and deployment stages.
  • Configure pipeline triggers and notifications for effective collaboration.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong proficiency in Java programming language.
  • In-depth knowledge of Ant build tool and experience in migrating to Maven or Gradle.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Bonus Requirements

Prior experience with other build tools (Maven, Gradle) and knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) is a plus.
