Junior Civil Engineer Job Description

As a Junior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing bill of quantities (BOQs) and cost estimates for civil and interior works. You will also support billing processes, collaborate with site teams for work progress reports, analyze and interpret AutoCAD drawings, and create basic 3D visuals using Google SketchUp.

This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, and BOQ preparation. A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering is required, along with 0-2 years of experience in real estate or construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare BOQs and cost estimates: Develop detailed estimates for civil and interior works, including labor costs and material requirements.
  • Support billing processes: Assist with measurement verification, contractor billing, and reconciliation to ensure accurate payment.
  • Collaborate with site teams: Work closely with on-site teams to gather information for work progress reports and ensure timely completion.
  • Analyze and interpret AutoCAD drawings: Review and understand complex AutoCAD drawings to inform cost estimates and project decisions.
  • Create 3D visuals: Use Google SketchUp to create basic 3D models for presentation and estimation purposes.
  • Monitor material usage: Track and analyze material usage to inform project budgeting and cost control.
  • Ensure proper documentation: Maintain accurate records for audit and project closure purposes.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering: Required for this role.
  • Experience in Real Estate/Construction: 0-2 years of experience in real estate or construction projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Google SketchUp, and BOQ preparation.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and reporting skills.
