Business Credit Strategist

Job Summary:

The Business Credit Strategist will play a critical role in evaluating business credit proposals, preparing and presenting financial models to senior management, and coordinating with internal stakeholders for timely disbursement of funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate business credit proposals by analyzing industry trends, financial data, and market research to determine the feasibility of deals.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial models, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to support deal evaluation.
  • Present financial models and deal summaries to senior management using PowerPoint presentations, highlighting key deliverables and risks.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely disbursement of funds, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on monthly/quarterly performance metrics to top management, identifying areas for improvement and recommending strategies to enhance credit risk management.
  • Perform market research and competitive analysis to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in credit risk management.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with junior analysts and management trainees, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of business finance, credit principles, and market trends.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to prepare and present complex financial models using MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of underwriting principles and practices in corporate lending.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
