NPI Launch Director Role

The NPI launch director is responsible for driving the introduction of new products from concept to launch, ensuring timely execution across the product lifecycle.

This includes managing project timelines, cost targets, and quality metrics. The successful candidate will lead multiple projects simultaneously, owning project governance, stage-gate reviews, and risk management frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Lead NPI projects, collaborate with R&D, design, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, service, and marketing teams to deliver on product specifications, regulatory standards, and customer requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align stakeholders and ensure smooth handover to operations post-launch.
  • Product Development & Validation: Oversee prototyping, pilot builds, and validation testing, and lead issue tracking and resolution during various phases.
  • Operational Readiness: Establish production readiness with manufacturing teams and drive cost optimization through value engineering and supplier development.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and refine NPI processes, tools, and best practices tailored for consumer appliance development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong program management skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Deep understanding of appliance product development, preferably in water purifiers / home appliances / consumer electronics.
  • Knowledge of plastic parts, filtration technologies, electronics integration, pumps/valves, and assembly processes.
  • Hands-on experience in DFMA, validation testing, regulatory certifications (ROHS, ISI, BIS, NSF, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
