Job Title: Software Engineering Expert - Application Packaging

 

About the Role:

This role involves designing, developing, and deploying software packaging solutions for desktop and server platforms. The successful candidate will have experience in integrating application packaging and delivery solutions with user self-service portals, automation tools, and enterprise software deployment tools.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Integration: Perform system integrations across Company desktop, on and off-prem cloud server, and AVD technology platforms.
  • Packaging Solutions: Develop and execute test plans prior to software deployment and maintain documentation of all customizations and changes made during the packaging process.
  • Automation: Automate scripts using PowerShell, Ansible, DSC, Python, or YAML and integrate them with user self-service portals and automation tools.
  • Deployment: Deploy software applications through Intune Management, application model, and containers.

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have 7+ years of experience in software packaging, application development, and deployment within a physical and virtual environment, preferably for a large enterprise organization.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills and hands-on expertise in .NET, .BAT, .VBS, WSE, .MSI, .MST, .MSP, SQL Server, APPV, MSIX, Numecent and similar scripting and database tools.
  • Automation Tools: Experience with automation scripts, orchestration, and automation processes and products.
  • Application Virtualization: Deep understanding of implementing and supporting application virtualization, streaming, layering, and paging technologies on AVD environments, desktop, servers on-prem and in the cloud, and mobile devices.
  • Microsoft Applications: Provides engineering, deployment, and transition to a broad range of current and future Microsoft applications and technologies or similar third-party tools that integrate Microsoft products.
  • Windows Registry: Strong experience in the Windows Registry (32/64bit architecture) manipulation required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should also have experience with project coordination, knowledge of UWP - MSIX packaging development and deployment, SAFe Agile framework, Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline, and Azure Certificates.
