Job Description

As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect at Grizmo Labs, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions. You'll work closely with our engineering teams to build modern DevOps toolchains and infrastructure platforms using open-source and best-in-breed commercial technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish Requirements and Deliver Solutions: Define requirements and quickly move to build prototypes and deliver final products that meet our high standards.
  • Build and Refine Our DevOps Toolchain: Continuously improve and expand our modern DevOps toolchain and infrastructure platform using open-source and best-in-breed commercial technologies.
  • Deliver High-Quality Solutions: Develop and implement high-quality, scalable, and resilient solutions that are well-documented and thoroughly tested.
  • Automate Operational Processes: Build internal tools to automate operational processes for capacity increases, improved CI/CD automation, cost optimization, and performance enhancements.
  • Optimize Development Pipelines: Design and implement automated systems that optimize development pipelines to increase the speed of software delivery.
  • Identify Opportunities for Automation: Identify opportunities and implement solutions to further automate platform builds and processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Build strong technical relationships with other engineering teams and utilize subject matter expertise to lead projects in an Agile environment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ Years of DevOps Experience: Proven experience in a tech-forward environment with progressively innovative contributions in system architecture.
  • Extensive Experience with Consumer-Focused Services: Experience working with highly scaled out consumer-focused services and platforms, primarily focused on core infrastructure and software delivery.
  • Scripting Language Proficiency: Proficiency in 2 or more scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript.
  • AWS Hosting Experience: Experience building deployment automation within AWS-hosted services and infrastructure.
  • Infrastructure as Code Understanding: Understanding of the infrastructure as code paradigm, specifically provisioning AWS infrastructure using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
  • Containerization and Orchestration: Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Operational Concepts and Tooling: Knowledge of operational concepts and tooling, including monitoring platforms like Grafana or Nagios, log aggregation solutions like Splunk, SumoLogic, and distributed tracing.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Knowledge: Knowledge of automation and best practices related to CI/CD pipelines and associated tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Chef, etc.
  • Microservice Architecture: Knowledge of microservice architecture and tools like Consul for service discovery and Linkerd for service mesh tools, such as Jaeger, as well as supporting tools for gathering telemetry data: InfluxDB, Telegraf, Prometheus.
