Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our US ODC team at Mastek. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing enterprise-grade Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a leadership position and drive the development of our cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing AKS clusters on Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Kubernetes Cluster Design and Implementation: Develop and maintain Kubernetes clusters on Azure, leveraging AKS for container orchestration, and ensure seamless integration with other cloud services.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform to deploy and manage primary and supporting infrastructures, ensuring consistent and repeatable deployments.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Development: Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Flux CD, ensuring smooth integration with Kubernetes deployments.
  • Technical Leadership and Guidance: Provide expert guidance and support to development teams throughout the development and deployment phases, reviewing and modifying code within GitHub repositories to ensure efficient and automated processes.
  • On-call Production Support: Offer 24/7 production support, troubleshooting complex issues related to AKS and container orchestration, and resolving technical challenges promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Cluster Performance Optimization: Monitor and manage Kubernetes resources using observability tools (Grafana, SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, etc.) to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and security threats.
  • Thought Leadership and Innovation: Drive platform strategy, advocate for best practices, and foster continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.

What We're Looking For

We seek an experienced professional with a strong background in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and DevOps. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in designing, managing, and supporting complex Microsoft AKS environments, along with expertise in Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience in designing, managing, and supporting complex Microsoft AKS environments.
  • Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database, Storage Accounts, and Azure Container Registry.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Terraform for automating infrastructure deployment and management.
  • Deep knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), including Helm for managing Kubernetes applications.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Flux CD.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding, and modifying code in GitHub, supporting development teams, and ensuring smooth integration with Kubernetes platforms.
  • Expertise in security best practices within Kubernetes environments, ensuring secure and compliant deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools, including the Grafana stack (Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Tempo), for creating dashboards and alerts.
  • Practical experience with Kuma/Kong Mesh service mesh technologies.
  • Hands-on experience managing Kong API gateways.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities, capable of leading troubleshooting sessions and guiding cross-functional teams.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and market research.
