Snowflake Data Cloud Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our data platform environment.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Snowflake administration, database management, performance tuning, security, and automation.

This role involves close collaboration with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency of the data platform.

  • Manage Snowflake accounts, users, roles, and permissions following RBAC principles.
  • Monitor query performance, optimize warehouses, and tune workloads to ensure efficient execution.
  • Oversee databases, schemas, tables, and data pipelines in Snowflake.
  • Implement security best practices including encryption, data masking, network policies, and audit logging.
  • Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and automating administrative tasks (SQL, Python, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Track warehouse utilization, storage, and query performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Manage compute and storage costs by monitoring consumption and implementing optimization strategies.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Strong knowledge of Snowflake features: Virtual Warehouses, Clustering, Time Travel, Data Sharing, Resource Monitors, Tasks, Streams.

Proficiency in SQL and scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and integrations.

Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (Airbyte, dbt, Fivetran, etc.).

Knowledge of data security & governance practices (RBAC, PII handling, compliance frameworks).

Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
