Solar Power Systems Installation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Solar Power Systems Installation Specialist to oversee and support the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of solar power systems at project sites. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar PV systems and a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles applied to renewable energy projects.

About This Role:

  • This role involves supervising and monitoring all solar PV electrical works on-site, including installation of panels, inverters, combiner boxes, transformers, and cable routing.
  • The selected candidate will review and interpret solar electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), string configurations, and layout plans to ensure that installations meet international standards and local regulations.
  • This position requires coordinating with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure integrated project delivery and ensuring all electrical work complies with IEC, NEC, and solar industry best practices.
  • The successful candidate will maintain accurate daily site logs, quality reports, material inspections, and testing records.
  • They will troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical on-site solutions to maintain progress and quality.
  • In addition, they will implement HSE procedures during electrical installations and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; a Master's degree is an asset.
  • No less than 10 years of experience in solar PV system installation and supervision is required.
  • A strong knowledge of solar PV system components, including inverters, modules, combiner boxes, etc., is essential.
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and testing equipment is necessary.
  • The ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings is also required.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are expected.
  • A willingness to be based on-site in Liberia for extended periods is a must.
