Commercial Property Accounting Manager

As a Commercial Property Accounting Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our commercial properties. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial properties, working closely with 3rd party property teams to oversee day-to-day accounting operations using MRI.
- Responsible for overall property level accounting including rent rolls and lease maintenance, cash management, financial reports, annual budgets and quarterly budget re-projections, tax basis amortization and depreciation calculations, and loan compliance.
- Provide support to 3rd party MRI users, review and approval of operating and tax escalations, annual estimates, quarterly and annual reconciliations, cost pools, expense caps, exclusions, gross ups and base year calculations.
- Manage Loan Compliance, mortgage payments, lender reporting, loan and escrow draw, prepare unaudited financial reports as required by ownership, provide comprehensive audit support, and prepare audited financial statements with footnotes.
To succeed in this role, you must possess strong accounting skills and experience in commercial property accounting. Key qualifications include:
- 5-8 years of property accounting experience, with the majority in commercial real estate.
- Experience with Funds and/or Joint Ventures, fair value GAAP, tax accounting, IFRS, TRS (Taxable REIT Subsidiaries), tenant recoveries (CAM), and waterfall calculations.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively, detail oriented, multitasking, prioritizing, proficiency with financial software systems applications, and Microsoft Windows software programs.
