Job Overview:

The role of Software Quality Assurance Engineer is a critical position within our organization, responsible for ensuring the quality of our optical metrology systems.

This involves performing various types of testing, including integration testing, system interface testing, functional testing, regression and benchmarking testing.

As part of this team, you will work closely with product, hardware, software, application, and characterization teams to design SQA testing strategies and plans based on product requirements, system specifications, and technical design documents.

Key responsibilities include creating detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases, planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities to meet product release schedules and requirements.

You will also be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining test automation capabilities to improve the efficiency and coverage of SQA testing.

In addition, you will develop, maintain, and improve testing suites/processes for various purposes, such as feature testing, regression testing, release testing, and benchmarking.

Effective communication and collaboration are essential in documenting software defects and working closely with software teams in addressing them. Tracking quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts, and identifying software quality gaps and providing solutions are also crucial aspects of this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong background in software quality assurance, with experience in developing comprehensive test plans and test cases.

Proficiency in automated testing tools and hands-on experience with scripting.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product, hardware, software, application, and characterization teams.

Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate testing strategies and plans to stakeholders.

Capacity to analyze complex problems and provide creative solutions, with a focus on improving testing efficiency and coverage.

Able to track quality assurance metrics and identify areas for improvement, with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
